I decided to leave to further my career in the industry.
In 1999 I moved to First Choice. There I worked in a Hypermarket for 4 years and fully enjoyed the fast pace of the Retail side. I then progressed to Team Manager for the Newport Hypermarket where I developed skills for management and training.
I left First Choice due to redundancy in 2006. It was around this time I read the Travel weekly, and came across an advertisement for NVQ Assessors for the travel industry. I applied for the vacancy and was successful. Whilst in this position I completed the assessor qualification and found the career that was right for me. Due to redundancy I moved on to work for another training company assessing Travel & Tourism and Customer Service in England but felt I needed to work closer to home.
I was approached by Vocations Ltd advising they had a position available for an assessor in Wales looking after Travel & Tourism. Immediately I had this great sense of excitement I met with Hayley and Kate and went on to accept their offer to join their company. With the great support and professionalism that Vocations offer I’m able to encourage and guide the apprentices through their NVQ.
I have 13 years experience in the Travel Industry and I fully enjoy using my experience to develop others. In 2011 I will be working towards my qualification to become an internal verifier.
